Breast Cancer in Men
Yes, men can get breast cancer too. What that means.
Men have breast tissue too, and they can develop breast cancer. It is very rare: only about one percent of all cases occur in men. Because hardly anyone expects it, changes often go unnoticed until later.
Warning signs include a usually painless lump behind the nipple, skin changes, or a nipple that pulls inward. If women or men in your blood relatives have had breast cancer, an inherited factor may be at play, which can raise the risk for men too. BRCA and Family Risk
The message is simple: changes in the breast should be checked out, no matter your gender.
