Grading and Ki 67, how aggressive is the tumor

What the terms G1 to G3 and Ki 67 tell you about the pace of a tumor.

Alongside the stage, the grade describes how much the tumor cells differ from normal tissue. G1 means the cells still resemble healthy tissue and usually grow slowly. G3 means they are strongly altered and often grow faster. G2 falls in between.

The marker Ki 67 shows how many cells are currently dividing, in other words how active the tumor is. A low value points to slow growth, a high value to faster growth.
